With over 30 years of dance experience Melanie holds her Advance Diploma of dance, Certificate 3 & 4 in fitness and is a qualified trainer and assessor.

Born on the Central Coast Melanie has studied Classical Ballet, Contemporary Jazz, Modern Dance, Tap and Musical Theatre before moving to Sydney at the age of 20 to dance full time.

She developed a love for Hip Hop and street dance in the early 90s and developed her skills here in Australia as well as in New York, Los Angeles and Japan over the past 25 years.

Melanie began practicing Hip Hop in 1996, Breaking in 2002, Popping and Locking in 2004, Krump in 2005, House dance in 2006, Stepping in 2009 and has just begun her Journey with Chicago Footwork.

Over the past 25 years she has choreographed and danced with crews such as Caramell, Found8ion, Rhapsody & Sweet Elite (Australia’s first B-girl crew). She has competed Nationally and Internationally with Crews and as a solo freestyle dancer.

Melanie has judged many street dance competitions such as Hip Hop International, Battlegrounds & Numerous Battles as well as adjudicated at many eisteddfods.

Melanie’s credits include: Johnny Ruffo, Danielle DeLaite, Senani, Amanda Perez, Israel, Random, Selwyn, Lordz of the Fly, Maya Jupiter, Foreign Heights, Sneeky Sound System and Joseph Gatehau of Australian Idol.

Other Choreographic achievements include: The Opening of the Urban Music Awards 2006/2007, Big Day Out, Sweatfest / Ministry of sound, Battle of the Year, Sleazeball, Johnny Ruffo Australia & Macau tour, Corporate entertainment for Hewlard Packard, Apple Ipod, Telstra & Adidas.
More recently Melanie performed for Iggy Azalea Bonds Campaign and won Real Estate House Battle in Brisbane.

Melanie has been judging, teaching and running workshops/events for well over 20 years and is currently in high demand as one of Sydney’s Leading and most experienced dancers, teachers and choreographers.

Melanie is honoured and excited to be taking the reins of one of Sydney’s longest running dance studios (Djazzex since 1994).

Lisa has had a life long involvement and passion for movement. She was originally trained in the Royal Academy of Dancing syllabus and started her career as a professional dancer in the commercial genre at the age of 18, working in a musical in Spain. Her work as a dancer kept her travelling for seven years in Europe and Asia and included work on television, musicals, product launches, fashion parades, Chesse Rijst Contemporary Dance Company and at the Lido in Paris.

Lisa first became involved with Pilates in the early 90’s when she returned to Australia and became an instructor working in a Pilates studio, and instructed Pilates to people like Paul Mercurio and John Mullins (Senior Lecturer and Program Co-ordinator of the BA/Bed at UNSW). She also taught dance at Sydney’s major dance centres, including Sydney Dance Company studios, Aboriginal Dance Theatre, Sydney University, various high schools, at State Dance Camps and Bodenweisers, and was involved in writing the jazz syllabus for the Australian Dance Assessment Program.

Lisa opened and ran DJAZZEX dance and Pilates on the Northern beaches from 1994 until 2017. In 2005 she applied for and won a scholarship, to become a Certificate IV Pilates Instructor with Pilates International. She completed her Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice in 2008 and her Advance Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice in 2010.  Lisa has completed a conditioning for dance conditioning specialist training and a mentorship program with Karen Clippenger M.S.P.E. Professor at Long Beach University. and has undertaken further training with Paula Baird Colt, conditioning expert with the Australian ballet. 

Lisa is passionate about the benefits of movement for the body and spirit. She believes you can always improve in what you do and will continue to study to improve her knowledge, skills and qualifications as a teacher of Dance and Pilates.  She holds a current first aid Certificate and is VET Accredited to teach Ballet and Jazz to Certificate IV Dance Performance Studies or HSC studies. She is a member of Ausdance, Australian Dance and the Pilates Alliance Australasia.

Dana Clover

Dana began dancing at the age of 3; training in Jazz (ADAP), Tap (Glenn Wood), Classical Ballet (ADAP), Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and Hip Hop. She trained at Julie Melrose School of Dance, Elevation Performing Arts, and Ecole Studios – continually feeling inspired by her teachers and eventually beginning to assist them in classes. Assistant teaching from the age of 14 years old, she started learning the best ways to pass on the knowledge they had given her; while continuing to train.

Dana performed in two LOcREaDO Company Shows “4 Elements” and “Split Personalities”, also completing her Certificate IV in Dance Performance while at high school. She went on to receive her Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management from Brent Street Studios, training full time in the art of educating performers. She now teaches Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Musical Theatre at Brookvale Dance Centre – and is loving every moment!

Alicia Kasih is an Indonesian choreographer and director. After graduating from the prestigious Brent Street Studios full-time program (2005) and Urban Dance Centre (2007), Alicia won scholarships that brought her to the U.S. to train and work with the best in the entertainment industry. She is trained in ballet, contemporary, musical theatre, jazz and urban dance styles.

Driven by her passion for music, movement and story-telling, Alicia has been developing and creating independent works, theatrical productions, commercial projects and brand-specific performances. She served as resident choreographer-director and producer for Jakarta Broadway Team in 2009 – 2014.

​Alicia is currently based in Sydney, Australia. As a dance instructor, she believes in strong work ethic and most importantly, the joy of dance.

Tiarna has been dancing for 18 years and has been trained at studios in the Sutherland shire. Tiarna’s training has been by leading choreographers in the industry including Kelly Abby, Stephan Tannos, Carly Copper, Blake Wood, Cassie Bartho and Natasha Crane. Tiarna has competed at many eisteddfods in both groups and solo sections and has recently been selected for the 2018 NRL Sydney Roosters cheerleaders squad.
Tiarna has taken many courses and workshops such as at broadway dance centre New York and the rockettes intensive program also in New York, Certificate II in dance. She currently holds her Certificate II in Dance and is studying the teachers training management diploma course.

Ryan Is a very diverse performer with skills in all areas of the performing arts. Ryan’s credits include, The voice (Delta Goodrem) , Australia’s got talent, The footy show, Carols in the Domain ( Paulini ), The premiers concert (Chloe Dallimore), The Arnott’s gala ball (Tim Campbell) , Primal dance company and Luna park. He has a love and passion for teaching as well as performing and loves to share his knowledge and skills with everyone.
